ES overnight
This system starts trading at midnight (exchange time) and trades through the end of the regular session. It is a counter trend system that trades based on the prior days market action. As with other systems, it waits for a big day, then trades the following day sideways. Development was completed in fall of 2010. There are stops, but they are extremely loose. See the chart example below. Anyone planning to trade this should find a broker that has a night shift. All performance is based on trading one S&P e-mini contract with commissions plus slippage of $35 per round trip.
This system had to be updated to get in synch with new CME hours that were put into effect this month (Nov 2012). As a result, the backtest does not look exactly like the old
one, but the performance is very similar overall. The out of sample part of the equity curve starts at about trade number 2000 on the TradeStation chart.
